Yes, an article review about this game.
Well, to start off, I think they based this game solely around Super Mario World. They made it sound like it was just a remake for Super Mario bros. (Nintendo version), but Super Mario World was a great success of the Mario series. In Super Mario World, there’s a [L R] feature, and this may be little but they added that in this game as well! There are also many enemies that came from that game and they are also in there. The Castles in The NEW Super Mario Bros. are very similar to the ones in Super Mario World. So that just goes to show you that the makers of Mario wanted Super Mario World to be revived in a way, and they did it. Personally though, I think Super Mario World is better then this game but still they are very similar (except for the extra graphics). The underground boards are almost identical to the ones in Super Mario World as well! The Boss’s in the game were not the same though. Instead of different Koopa’s coming (like in Super Mario World), its Baby Bowser. Also, the “Big Bullet Bills” were also an idea from Super Mario World. And they added another feature from Super Mario World, the “Select feature”. In other words, if you look at the screen shots below, you’ll see that instead of having to press Select, you tap it (an Nintendo DS classic).
About other facts I will soon be coming to tell you, here’s some screen shots I found online:

The graphics in this game are “Super Mario64″ graphics. Which I like because that’s one of My favorite games. Speaking of Super Mario64, there are a lot of similarities of that game in The New Super Mario bros. . The Water boards have music from Super Mario64 in it. Also, they added the “Triple Jump” and “Wall to Wall” feature from Super Mario64, so that’s cool. And I suppose the rest of this game came from the original Super Mario bros. The “W1 – 1″ is an exact replica of the one in Super Mario bros. Well, I’ll sum the rest up.
Music and graphics: Super Mario64
Boards, Enemies and special features: Super Mario World
Game Style: Super Mario bros., Super Mario bros. 3.
I think everything is correct. I hope you enjoyed this article. I am just glad to be a part of this blog.

Excellent article. Completely summed up the game! =D This was in fact my first game on DS, and it was really enjoyable. But, when you said the graphics were Super Mario 64, I would have to disagree. It’s actually Super Mario 64 DS graphics, sized down to look even better. That’s why Mario looks a bit pixel-y when he has a giant mushroom.
Comment by mario64mario April 24, 2008 @ 5:19 pmThank you I appreciate it. =) And yeah same thing I suppose. They ARE the same game but with different features.
Comment by Shadow Luigi April 24, 2008 @ 5:58 pm[EDIT] SL: Ah…I posted it…….sorry but this comment will not make sense if it stays here.
Comment by dragoncrash April 24, 2008 @ 7:53 pmheh. Correct, but if you play the directly one after another, then you’ll notice the DS graphics are considerably better.
Comment by mario64mario April 25, 2008 @ 1:07 pmYes they are different but they are the same game.
Comment by Shadow Luigi April 25, 2008 @ 4:20 pmWith slight differences, but I’d digress
Comment by mario64mario April 27, 2008 @ 7:18 pmBy the way, due to the eariler post I respond; The first game I played on Nintendo DS was “Mario & Luigi Partner’s in Time”.
Comment by Shadow Luigi April 27, 2008 @ 7:20 pmI have that too. I like that series. It’s pretty unique. Although, I’d like to see it go under a change like the Paper Mario series. The battle system for the one on Wii is awesome!
Comment by mario64mario April 28, 2008 @ 5:05 pmI am not fond of the “NEW” games that keep coming out. They are all utterly rushed.
Comment by Shadow Luigi April 28, 2008 @ 5:59 pmI was just saying that there was similar things in the old games to the new games. Sorry if I was confusing.
Comment by dragoncrash April 28, 2008 @ 6:10 pmNo, I actually edited your post because you said Mario made the article. I made it though.
Comment by Shadow Luigi April 29, 2008 @ 10:13 amI don’t actually like the new format for Super Paper Mario series. It really disappointed me after the excellent RPG format on the other two. I should get it again… I loved that game way too much…

Comment by Shadow Luigi May 4, 2008 @ 8:26 pm… are any of you bloggites from there? I was. But, putting that aside… No one has been to the role-playing page in forever. We need to start it already.
Comment by Gravemind May 5, 2008 @ 4:22 pmMario changed the role playing to “Role Playing page”.
Comment by Shadow Luigi May 5, 2008 @ 4:24 pmThat’s what I said. Lol. But, maybe we need a change in scenery. Why did people all of a sudden leave off?
Comment by Gravemind May 6, 2008 @ 5:39 pmCrunchy started a scenario, but left. I’m sure it’ll get popular again.
Comment by mario64mario May 6, 2008 @ 9:31 pmWe should count this article as a chatroom. (Since Mario isn’t going to be posting any more articles..)
Comment by Shadow Luigi May 8, 2008 @ 9:08 amBrilliant game, great review
Can’t wait for the inevitable sequel!
Comment by sickr May 9, 2008 @ 4:59 pmI doubt it would be a sequel because Mario games don’t really have sequels. But here’s hoping.
Comment by Shadow Luigi May 9, 2008 @ 5:01 pmYEa, I’ll be posting an article soon. And to counter you comment on sequels, Sickr (I love your site!) has informed me that Miyamoto was thinking about a follow-up to Super Mario Galaxy. (http://sickr.wordpress.com/2008/05/01/nintendo-wii-miyamoto-thinking-about-new-mario-and-zelda-wii-games/)
Comment by mario64mario May 9, 2008 @ 6:17 pmThis may or may not be a sequel.
The link is broken Mario.

It doesn’t seem to hyperlink even when I type it out fully. Sorry. You’re going to have to copy and paste it into the URL box.

Comment by mario64mario May 11, 2008 @ 8:37 pmWell I am not going to stay the same fan of this blog if you do this…if this blog changes, I…..
Comment by Shadow Luigi May 12, 2008 @ 10:34 amI don’t understand what the issue is, SL. All I’m doing is expanding the horizons. We will still be focusing on Mario, just like always. Is the presence of another game series all that harmful? I don’t think my articles should be segragated by sites. They can be shared, though.
(P.S. – Your drawing is done, I’ll send it tonight. Sorry for the delay.)
