Zelda is back and in a new game which is different than the usual ship, since this time, Link rides a train. And it’s once again on the DS which is surprising since most people are still rooting for the Wii. I’ll get more info soon! ^^

hm. Well, i have to admit, i’ve been waiting for news about the new game.. but, another DS game just doesn’t seem as appealing as i’d like.

I haven’t played the Phantom Hourglass, though, so I can’t judge. -_-’

…. I must apologize for double posting, but.. I just saw the preview for the game.

It’s not as bad as I thought: although, the train represents industrialization: i always thought that the Zelda games revolved around medieval themes and fantasy? :S

It was good to finally get some news on a new title but i would have prefered it to be a game for the Wii

@UZM – They have to increase the plot somehow. Another game with boats won’t sell. Seeing our favourite and lovable Toon Link in a shiny steam engine does. XD

@Martyn – As it looks, E3 is shaping up to be huge for Nintendo this year. Reggie keeps blowing hot air about a “huge announcement”. I’m hoping as well as you are that it’s the new Zelda for Wii.

Concerning the new Zelda for Wii: I’ve found lots of articles describing not one, but TWO new Zelda games.. I think you two will get your wish. :)

All we can do is hope, I guess.

Today’s economy isn’t helping the production of any games.. who am I kidding? It’s not helping the production of ANYTHING. All I’m saying is, if the two new Zelda games bomb (Farore forbid), then Nintendo might go out of business. And then chaos ensues.

Yea, I knew that for a while now. In an interview from 2008 (after the release of PH), Shigeru Miyamoto stated that there were two Zeldas in production; one for DS, one for Wii, and that people from each team were switching over to each other sporadically.

…. I don’t know what to say to that… On one hand, I believe that changing the teams at constant intervals is good for a mixing of ideas and timeline adjustment (I do NOT care for the split-timeline). The only problem is… don’t you think that mixing the teams might lead to confusion, or an accidental mistake in coding? :S

This game might be cool, however I have my doubts. The Legend of Zelda series is getting a bit…too high-tech.

I’ve seen this game as well, and the videos and official art does suggest it will be a decent enough game. It’s also not quite as linear as many people expected, and since the train sections have more action and general gameplay than some people thought (I read you can use a cannon to defeat enemies like Bandits, dodge larger enemies, try and dodge actual full length trains travelling down the same tracks as Link, etc), I personally have high hopes for the game. As for the person saying it’s too high tech… not sure. Remember, Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask had electric type technology and such like, The Wind Waker had modern style cameras and colour photographs and the other games have all shown a generally above medieval level of progress.
